Overlooking the Pacific Ocean on a 6,500-acre working sheep and cattle farm, Kauri Cliffs is near Matauri Bay, Northland. In the main lodge are living rooms, a meeting room, spa and fitness centre; 22 elegant suites are spread over 11 cottages; there's a two-suite Owner's Cottage with an infinity-edged pool. Diversions include a championship golf course and three private beaches, kayaking and clay-pigeon shooting.

The Main Lodge at Kauri Cliffs affords spectacular 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean. Cape Brett and the offshore Cavalli Islands are part of the panorama which can be viewed from the verandas, lounge, card and dining rooms. Facilities include two Astroturf tennis courts, an infinity swimming pool with spa and a fully equipped fitness centre. Kauri Cliffs has three secluded swimming beaches, which are also available for picnics and barbeques.
