Casadelmar
Porto-Vecchio, Corsica
This striking designer hotel - in red cedar, glass and grey stone, overlooks the bay of Porto-Vecchio boasting a dream location by the sea, minutes from the town centre and the most beautiful beaches of southern Corsica. The 34 rooms and suites are furnished with bright fabrics and all have terraces with panoramic bay views. Michelin-starred chef Fabio Bragagnolo creates innovative Mediterranean dishes that reflects the spirit of its location and incomparable natural surroundings, service is exemplary. There is also a 29-metre infinity-edged pool, a small private beach solarium, spa with hammam, helipad and a fully serviced private villa offering another 5 (one and two-bed) suites for those in need of the ultimate privacy.
Architect and Interior designer Jean-Francois Bodin and landscape designer Jean Mus worked closely together to highlight the sensual beauty of the exterior. Casadelmar has breathed new life into the boutique-hotel idiom with a modern wood-paneled exterior and an array of original and amusing details. All rooms and suites have drop-dead views over the Bay of Porto Vecchio and are done in an appealing Japanese-Scandinavian style of raw-oak furniture, beige upholstery, Frette linens, and sisal-edged rugs made from thin strips of wood on mushroom-colored tile floors. The infinity pool has the same stunning bay views, and there's a dock for anyone who wants to take a dip in the Med. The hotel?s own speed boat is also available all day to take guests from the private jetty directly to the private sandy beach of sister property La Plage Casadelmar on the beautiful peninsula of Benedettu, a 5 minute ride across the bay. The other exceptionally beautiful and white sand beaches of Palombaggia and Santa Giulia are a mere 15 minutes drive from the hotel.
Nestled in almost three hectares of private landscaped gardens overlooking the bay of Porto-Vecchio on Corsica?s spectacular south coast, the hotel ?Casadelmar? is a hotel of fine luxury and elegant leisure, heralding the start of a new jet-set era for the island. The hotel?s exceptional views of the Mediterranean are framed in clear lined architectural forms that highlight the Hotel Casadelmar?s glorious location. This sleek simplicity is further underscored by the use of natural grey stone throughout the hotel, large red cedar terraces and contrasting, lively fabrics.
The result is a very contemporary, yet timeless, hotel full of light, with an atmosphere of calm and ease. Wellness plays a major role at the hotel Casadelmar, and the spa by Espa illustrates this. Four massage cabins, a Turkish bathwer, sensory shower, gym, and relaxation rooms are all available in an area dominated by wide vistas of the sea. A private beach, yacht mooring and heated outdoor infinity pool brings the Mediterranean even closer.
