FABIAN GOTTLIEB THADDEUS VON BELLINGSHAUSEN
Fabian Gottlieb Thaddeus von Bellingshausen (20 September [O.S. 9 September] 1778 ? 25 January [O.S. 13 January] 1852) was an officer in the Imperial Russian Navy, cartographer and explorer, who ultimately rose to the rank of Admiral. He was a notable participant of the first Russian circumnavigation and subsequently a leader of another circumnavigation expedition, which discovered the continent of Antarctica.

HERBERT GEORGE PONTING
Herbert George Ponting, FRGS (21 Mar 1870?1935) was a professional photographer. He is best known as the expedition photographer and cinematographer for Robert Falcon Scott's Terra Nova Expedition to the Ross Sea and South Pole (1910?1913). In this role, he captured some of the most enduring images of the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration.
