FAMOUS FRENCH POLYNESIAN

MARLON BRANDO
Marlon Brando: He lived between 1924 and 2004 and was an American screen and stage actor who was considered to be one of the most important actors in American cinema. The filming of Mutiny on the Bounty affected Brando's life in a profound way, as he fell in love with Tahiti and its people. He bought a 12-island atoll, Tetiaroa, which he intended to make partly an environmental laboratory and partly a resort.

PAUL GAUGUIN
Paul Gauguin: He was a leading French Post-Impressionist artist who was not well appreciated until after his death. He lived between 1848 and 1903. In 1891, Gauguin sailed to French Polynesia to escape European civilization and "everything that is artificial and conventional. After returning to Paris for a short time, he returned to French Ploynesia until his death in 2004.
