FAMOUS EGYPTIANS
ALEXANDER THE GREAT Alexander III of Macedon (20/21 July 356 ? 10/11 June 323 BC), commonly known as Alexander the Great from the Greek, was a king of Macedon, a state in northern ancient Greece. Born in Pella in 356 BC, Alexander was tutored by Aristotle until the age of 16. Not at least because of his militäry successes the life of Alexander the Great became to a famous motive in literature and art. In modern research his judgement is, as already in the antique, very controversial. RAMESSES II Ramesses II (c. 1303 BC ? July or August 1213 BC) referred to as Ramesses the Great, was the third Egyptian pharaoh (reigned 1279 BC ? 1213 BC) of the Nineteenth dynasty. He is often regarded as the greatest, most celebrated, and most powerful pharaoh of the Egyptian Empire. ![]() Map
