Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp
Bwindi, Uganda
The Uganda Wildlife Authority has introduced two new gorilla families into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. This is exciting news for anyone who dreams of seeing these incredible and rare primates up close as the available gorilla permits per day will now be increased from 48 to 64. The new families, who have been named Orugonzo and Kahungye, have been habituated and tracking will begin in June. The Orugonzo family are located in the Mburameizi area and can be easily reached from Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp.
Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp is the only concession located inside Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and is the perfect base for tracking and meeting the gorillas that live there. Guests at Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp are invited to trek through the dense forest in search of a rare glimpse of the native species. Although challenging, the experience results in an intimate and rewarding encounter like no other. ![]() Map
