Tiger Tops Lodge
Royal Chitwan National Park & Bardia National Park, Nepal
JUNGLE LODGE . Chitwan National Park
Fresh and natural jungle style with double rooms all with en suite bathrooms and creative menus with an emphasis on fresh local ingredients; home to 8 resident elephants and 6 expert naturalists. The Jungle Lodge lies in the heart of Chitwan National Park, a world heritage site since 1984. The park is home to a plethora of wildlife including a staggering number of bird species and the majestic and elusive Royal Bengal Tiger. A pair of treehouses nestle unobtrusively in a clearing, looking out to the Narayani River as it swells and falls throughout the year. The kitchen at Jungle Lodge produces delicious, beautifully presented home-style cooking. Eggs sunny-side up, freshly squeezed orange juice and a pot of strong coffee to the start the day off, home-baked biscuits at tea-time and a basket of steaming samosas to accompany your evening sundowner before dinner ? we guarantee you won?t go hungry.
TENTED CAMP . Chitwan National Park
The smaller and lower-key sister to Jungle Lodge, Tented Camp has a similarly glorious location in the heart of Chitwan National Park. Tented Camp is built around a central area which contains an extensive bar and an elevated viewing deck overlooking the surrounding riverine grassland, the perfect place to relax with a drink in hand as the sun sinks into the horizon. The kitchen at Tented Camp produces simple, home-cooking using only the freshest local ingredients. A pot of tea placed gently on your verandah heralds the start of the day, and a hot water bottle tucked cosily into your sheets at night signals the onset of another solid night?s sleep. Expert naturalists accompany guests on twice daily walks and game drives, imparting their extraordinary knowledge of animals, flora and fauna and bringing the drama of the jungle to life. You?ll learn to read the early morning animal tracks in the soft jungle floor and recognize alarm calls as predators stalk silently through the undergrowth at dusk.
KARNALI LODGE . Bardia National Park
Karnali is an intimate lodge with ultra personal service and expert guiding. We?ve created a calming, soothing retreat with a focus on fresh, local produce and in line with our company philosophy, a steadfast commitment to responsible tourism. Bardia National Park is a world away from the chaotic hustle of Kathmandu. Karnali Lodge is supremely comfortable with a focus on privacy and calm. As part of our commitment to responsible tourism, Karnali Lodge runs almost entirely on solar energy. The kitchen uses largely organic produce to produce simple, delicious meals. The main area is home to a welcoming bar and is lit with lanterns each evening, providing a convivial space to re-live the day?s adventures, before and often long after supper is served.
THARU LODGE . Chitwan National Park
The wildlife of Chitwan National Park is separated from the human population by the natural boundary of the Narayani River. A short bullock-cart ride from the riverbank takes you to Tharu Lodge set on the edge of a traditional Tharu village and offering a unique insight into Nepalese village life. Tharu Lodge is a place to take stock and re-charge ? make the most of the warm Nepalese sunshine and breakfast al fresco in the shade of mango tree. Have a game of tennis, dip in and out of the pool, doze in a sunny corner of the garden or try your hand at backgammon in the cool of the bar area. The kitchen at Tharu uses mainly organic produce from its immaculate kitchen garden and only the freshest local ingredients. Delicious Nepali curries are served at lunch time and beautifully plated suppers revolve around simple yet imaginative menus.
