Amandira
Moyo Island, West Sumbawa Regency, Indonesia
Aman Resorts' new expedition vessel Amandira promises indulgence and intrepidness in Indonesia. Adding sailing adventures to Amanwana?s on-water offerings, Amandira will launch in May 2015. Named after the Sanskrit-derived word for ?peace? and dira which means ?intrepid?, the custom-built, 52-metre, two-masted Phinisi sailing vessel can be chartered in tandem with Amanikan. Amandira can travel under sail as well as motor. Dive facilities include the use of nitrox, allowing longer dive times for experienced divers.

Hand-crafted by the Konjo tribe, a sub-ethnic group of the Bugis-Makassar people, the vessel is based on the Indonesian Phinisi ships traditionally used by Buginese and Makassarese for transporting cargo or fishing in the region. It will, however, be significantly more luxurious than is the norm. Accommodation on board will comprise one master cabin, two deluxe cabins and two additional cabins with bunk beds. All are air-conditioned and feature well-appointed bathrooms with separate showers. The master and deluxe cabins also feature private living areas with couch, coffee table and desk. A crew of 14 will attend to guests in the common areas, which include a teak foredeck, bar, lounge, library and entertainment room. Expeditions aboard Amandira include:

? The Komodo Expedition, a seven-night journey which explores the UNESCO-protected Komodo National Park, cruising through the Nusa Tenggara island chain to Rinca and Komodo where the infamous Komodo dragon can still be found.
? The Raja Ampat Expedition, a five- or seven-night adventure through one of the world's most exceptional marine areas. Encompassing over 40,000 square kilometres in the northeast seas of the Indonesian Archipelago, Raja Ampat features magnificent coral reefs and unparalleled marine life.
